Hi,

wer are just trying to clarifay the history. The serial number is 411.114-8590001. The French Army did test in 1957-58 some light Unimog for their airborne troops. The Unimog had a M121 gas oil motor, but these one has an OM621, which may came later as retrofit.

If you have any information in France, let us know.

as this is a single prototype, my the French Armee will have some data, but I think they will not disclose their information, alltough this Unimog is no longer resonable for any armee.

Yes, that are the only three pictures we all know. On the second page , bottom line left, that is the predecessor of our prototype, it is from 1957.

Are there more pictures in France?

I've got some books about french-army véhicules but i never see this unimog's model.
I think i 've got 401 , 404 , 404-prototype 's pictures , but i don't remember seen some photos or articles on the 411-114.
i'll make some researchs on the french-net ....

There had been an article in a Frenck magazine about Unimogs at the French Troops. But this was only including 404 and U1300. We know this article, containing three chapters.

This is a 404 pre-series. The windshield wipers are on the top.

fred, les moteurs d'essuies glaces sur ta photo sont en haut on dirait (), alors que sur les protopypes, c'est en bas du pare-brise

So , i looked for in my book , Except this 2 pictures , all the photos represents some 404s.

The first : a 401 . They are used with the AMX13, it served as a véhicule of servitude.



At the end of 1953 , It's the first prototype wich was given at the STA
Motorized by the 220's engine. 2.2M between the 2 axles.



But nothing about the 411-114.
